I have decided to to stop anime blogging. Whenever I feel like writing on anime, I might do so on my original blog, About Chocolate Parfaits (that has mainly turned into a movie blog today). Whoever is interested in the reasons can ask me personally through e-mail, commenting or IRC.
It is possible that I might start aniblogging regularily again, but only if there suddenly comes a new concept I find interesting, such as shifting to blogging on manga, or going back to blogging episodically. Until then, blog postings are only written on specific demand.
Lots of “thank you”s and embarassing remarks after the cut, if you allow me
First of all, thank you, TJ, for everything. You’ve been the first person who got close to me, you were the one who ultimately made me look into the #animenano channel, you were the special and finally, you actually were the person who directed me towards the Facebook group of Animenano where I started friending a few old acquaintances… and the rest is history. I could say many, many more cheesy things, but I know that you wouldn’t want that =P
Thank you, manga and MrMayat, for sticking with me all this time and for supporting me on this blog.
Thank you, everyone from the #animeblogger channel, for spending innumerous hours of pure fun with me although you guys are a bunch of chaos, haha. I definitely will be regularily lurking around the channel more and really, it’s a beautiful thing to come into the channel and be greeted and talk to by people. This may be a small and simple, but it has made me really happy a lot of times.
Thank you, aurabolt, for drawing the most adorable Hagu for me.
Thank you, Randall, for hosting me and for being an incredibly helpful person when you don’t troll me =P
Thank you, Owen, for founding the ABC and especially thank you everybody who has participated in it. A project with so many interesting bloggers truly was exciting. I have always been the type of person who disappears for months and then comes back with some postings - and last year, the ABC back then definitely showed me why I used to like blogging so much.
Thank you, Martin, for taking my criticism back then and starting to become my favourite blogger of all times, although I never really talked to you ‘face to face’. Very similar words should also go to Karura, I hope to see more of you!
Thank you, Lolikit, for being a genuinely funny person, a good friend to Pip and Os - and for making the podcast.
Thank you, Osusu, for becoming friends with me so randomly.
Thank you, itsubun, for being the most despicable person on the english internet I have met so far. You made me realize that I did really well choosing a major with ~4% female students so as to avoid the result of schemes as much as possible. Now, I know to appreciate my current workplace even more. (A bunch of scientists and engineers, yay!)
Finally, thank you, my dear readers! Thank you, everyone who has read my blog postings and commented. Whenever I felt like not blogging anymore, thank you for everyone who cheered me up and told me to go on. A lot of your comments made my blog more interesting than it was in the first place and I thank you deeply for every single of them. There are many of you that I would have loved to see more of, and I will definitely continue reading the postings of those of you who have a blog.
PS. Yes, this kind of thing is annoying and does not help my decision to stop blogging:

I love the second-to-last paragraph. I can already see the sky darkening with a swarm of stupid girls rushing in to troll and break the layoutwwwwwwwyougettheidea.
A very sad day it is, but I can perfectly understand why you wanted to stop so I guess it’s better than you going on. ^^
Posted 14 Jun 2008 at 13:51 CE(S)T ¶WHAT??? Just when I’m beginning to regularly read your posts, (especially the one week in the blogosphere ones) you’re stopping???
Posted 14 Jun 2008 at 14:08 CE(S)T ¶Well, whatever the reason, I do hope that one day this comes to pass and you find reason to start again (but I suppose that’s something you shouldn’t force yourself to do if it’s not calling back to you…)
what issa-sa said. [do not wantttttt]
Posted 14 Jun 2008 at 14:35 CE(S)T ¶Liked your posts. Hope you find your inner peace. xD
Posted 14 Jun 2008 at 14:44 CE(S)T ¶Good luck, Sada. As others have said, it is a “do not want” situation, but I can understand it.
Posted 14 Jun 2008 at 15:11 CE(S)T ¶;_;
Sasa-sama!
At least you’ll still be on the IRC Channel, but then again, I HARDLY go on that!
Posted 14 Jun 2008 at 15:35 CE(S)T ¶Aww well, it’s your decision. Good luck with your future endeavors. I, like many others, will miss you in the aniblogosphere.
Will you be hanging around on IRC and such?
Posted 14 Jun 2008 at 16:33 CE(S)T ¶Sasa, you know what I think of this.
So please, if you see me on mIRC och MSN, let´s have a talk about your reasons and I pray for you that they are really good ones.
And I really want to know if it is ok to keep bloging now when you have quit? If the Hime isn´t here then what about us peasants?
Posted 14 Jun 2008 at 16:45 CE(S)T ¶You know when’s a great time for a resurrection? Next February. You need to be active for at least two months before nominating me in next April’s ABAs.
Posted 14 Jun 2008 at 17:18 CE(S)T ¶Well, I must join the general chorus of sorrow in your comments thread: I have always enjoyed reading your entries.
Posted 14 Jun 2008 at 18:01 CE(S)T ¶Hmm, haven’t we gone down this road before a few months back?
Anyway, I respect your decision, whatever it may be. After all, it’s better to burn out than fade away.
See you on the other side. (IRC)
Posted 14 Jun 2008 at 18:28 CE(S)T ¶“You made me realize that I did really well choosing a major with ~4% female students so as to avoid the result of schemes as much as possible.”
Sweet, thanks for choosing a major where I’ll never have to run into a misogynistic female like you =D
I’ve enjoyed some of your posts, but overall I think you’re pretty arrogant, and I don’t like sexist people as a rule, so have fun in a world where I’ll never have to meet you.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to my catty, bitchy, female scheming.
Posted 14 Jun 2008 at 19:56 CE(S)T ¶I think the female equivalent of misogyny is misandry and, while it’s the last form of prejudice that’s still acceptable in real life, I haven’t encountered it here or anywhere else online. Maybe it’s down to personal interpretations of context or something. *shrugs*
In any case, I’m hoping this post will turn out to be ‘So this is goodbye…for now…’ and you somehow rediscover your creative spark sometime in the future. It’s always a shame to see another one of my favourite bloggers throw in the towel but I’m sure you’ve got your reasons so good luck with whatever you have planned next. See you on your other blog, I guess.
Posted 15 Jun 2008 at 01:35 CE(S)T ¶Hmm…well, this was unexpected and sudden news. I think I understand it partly and I hope you have fun with your other blog. ^_^
Posted 15 Jun 2008 at 10:31 CE(S)T ¶@issa-sa: I’m probably going to comment on your blog about this, and I’m actually really sorry that my decision seemed to have influenced you in a negative way.
In fact, I was really happy about your comment and I thank you so much for saying something positive about my blogosphere postings. I found them very enjoyable write and put quite a lot of time into them - and then (via IM) I was attacked for trying to enlarge my e-penis by collecting trackbacks. I was so shocked.
@lelangir: That is sweet, thank you!
@Ez: Inner peace, ahahaha! I wonder if I really am so emo and psychically unstable that I need “inner peace”, haha. Actually a big portion of this decision lies in RL and a somewhat busy life.
@Haesslich: Thank you, actually manga is likely to continue blogging, so all is fine. Heterochromia as a site is most probably not dead.
@blissmo: Buri! XD You should come to the IRC channels more often :3
@Baka-Raptor: But I was active for ages, ahaha. I don’t know if I ever want to participate in the ABAs - I already did not participate in the last once because I was doubtful of the concept. As Osu has said once, the golden age of blogging is over for a lot of people.
@IKnight: Thank you very much - I must admit that I have no idea which ones of my writing you could ever have possibly enjoyed though.
@A Day Without Me: You will run into people like me. Sadly, the world is still rather male-dominated and a woman who can deal with a male-dominated environment is more likely to become your boss one day.
Okay, that was half-serious, but really: I never said all females or even lots of females scheme. I just think that, in a group of girls, one scheming girl is enough to pollute the whole environment. The girls I meet IRL are mostly individuals in a group of no more than 4 and most of them are really precious to me. (I’d even go as far to say that they would agree with me that scheming bitches are a pain.) I think that a lot of girls in the round robin are intelligent, sweet and interesting; and I’d love to get to know more about them as individuals - but I also think that certain people in it just damper my interest to be in that “gang”.
@Martin: Without consulting Wikipedia, I dare to say that “misandry” is disliking men, which I don’t, I think. A woman who dislikes men is rather easily accepted, that’s true. However, if you say that you dislike women (no matter whether you are a man or not), is much more difficult, because politically incorrect.
In society, women probably still have a lot of reasons to dislike men - and when one day, I look at my paycheck, knowing that it’s 25% less than my colleague who does the same thing with the same qualifications, I might have those reasons too. But I think that’s society’s fault, not “the men’s” fault. That’s why I react extremely allergic to “let’s fight against men” organizations - and thus easily get dismissed into the category “misogynist”.
Aside from that dreaful topic, I can assure you that I will be regularily posting about movies and other things still. I guess a few things have to change to make me want to blog again. Also, thank you for commenting, it’s greatly appreciated.
@Caitlin: Yeah, you were the only person I actually talk to about this all girls dilemma indeed and I hoped you would understand. I hope that you will always continue blogging yourself!
Posted 15 Jun 2008 at 15:16 CE(S)T ¶So my first post on this blog coincides with the end of your active blogging life?
Off to watch Jesus Terminator parody. ‘Don’t worry. he will be back.’
But for this case, a ’she’ is more appropriate.
Posted 15 Jun 2008 at 17:59 CE(S)T ¶Oh my, Marmot is so predictable in being a stupid cunt it’s almost hilarious.
Posted 15 Jun 2008 at 19:07 CE(S)T ¶While it’s sad to see you bid this goodbye, I know that *something* pending we have simply means that you’ll really be sticking around the ’sphere still, just, in a ‘different’ way
All the best with your endeavors, Sasa! *hugs*
Posted 15 Jun 2008 at 19:15 CE(S)T ¶Yeah so. I don’t really give a shit about all this retarded drama that’s been going on, because, while some of my friends are offended, I can’t say anything about you personally attacking me. *shrug* I don’t do the pack mindset, and while I may have opinions on the matter, it, ultimately, has nothing to do with me and I have no right to come out of left field and harass you about it. In short, I have liked posts that you made, and it seemed a shame not to at least give a two cent response as a sending off, just because drama is happening now. Suspension of current situation, go!
I can relate to your burned-outness — perhaps someone will harass/encourage you back into blogging like the RR did for me. If nothing else, lurking might just encourage you to write itself — there’s so many bloggers who write fascinating things, it’s not hard to believe you might get inspired. And, if none of that drags you back, then hey man, life goes on. Have fun with whatever else you do. I only read one movie blog ever, since I never watch movies, so I’ll only see you around if you stick around, sadly.
I wish I had picked a major that was populated by 4% idiots as opposed to the current 60-70% it has going on. Knowing some of these vapid, vacuous turds are one day going to teach my children Shakespeare without ever actually understanding it truly hurts me on a level I can’t express. At least people in your position can’t get away as easily with screwing up, eh?
Posted 16 Jun 2008 at 05:39 CE(S)T ¶@The Sojourner: Aww, that’s so funny and sweet, haha. Although I saw my blog on your blogroll, I never knew you actually read it! Thank you for that.
@Milkmaster: I love how she thought I’m the kind of person who would actually to copy out her “BAW”s into her blog. Now ’somebody’ still has to do it on itsubun’s blog, ahaha. Would you care to read her posting for me and set things straight in case she says some dishonest things? :3
@usagijen: Thank you so much for your sweet message, jen! I’ll talk to you later :3
@bettynoire: You know, when I saw your name, I was 1 step before clicking delete before reading your post (like I did with some others, those people can go on itsubun’s blog to comment on it). That’s just how ridiculously sensitive I got because of Marmot’s ravings and other kinds of past experiences. But your assessment sounds reasonable and I am glad that you admit that you have opinions on this matter that most probably don’t differ much from the other girls’. Typically people either openly take sides or say “I don’t have any opinions”. The first is natural in my opinion and I’d just try to ignore that person, and the latter sounds extremely unbelievable and dishonest to me.
I also have confronted myself to way too much political correctness on the internet, so it’s quite a relief to see somebody calling people “vapid, vacuous turds”. It’s a shame that you got dragged into the drama as one of the few people in the whole thing I have thought really highly of, so I can only say thank you for taking your time to comment, especially since I haven’t expected it from you at all.
On a side note, from what I can see, intelligent children from a certain age on (around 13-14) typically start forming their own opinions on Shakespeare and the likes, so the damage becomes comparably small when there is a teacher who talks bullshit about the works he teaches. Try not to worry too much, or so?
Posted 16 Jun 2008 at 07:55 CE(S)T ¶Aww. And just when I started to regularly lurk on your blog. In a not-so-eloquent way, this some kinda sucks. I really hope to see you around. And I’ll most definitely lurk on your other blog.
It’s a shame parting with the dorama aspect involved. I love me some dorama but this has gotten out of hand. Infantile, perhaps. And the irony of promoting lurv and peace between those lacking the Y-chromosome.
BTW, fuck political correctness. Sometimes, we need to tell it like it is.
Posted 16 Jun 2008 at 11:25 CE(S)T ¶Aww, I just started reading and your leaving? Oh well I shall subscribe to your author blog for cajolement(is that the word?)!
Best of luck Sasa and your right about that last bit in your post. Those comments annoy the heck out of me
Posted 16 Jun 2008 at 14:31 CE(S)T ¶Holy crap my auto spelling checker wigged out. That was supposed to be “other blog for con…”
Posted 16 Jun 2008 at 14:35 CE(S)T ¶“I have always been the type of person who disappears for months and then comes back with some postings - ”
This is what I hope will be the case in the future. Either way, it’s sad that you’ve decided to stop, as I enjoy your posts and your interesting way of looking at things. As always, we’ll hold down the animeblogging fort for you, so don’t worry about that.
And drama is overrated. :/
Posted 25 Jun 2008 at 15:23 CE(S)T ¶*sob sob*
this is so sudden…. for me at least, who haven’t been around for the past few weeks. So sorry for not being around to support you and your blog (through reading).
Best of luck with what ever kind of blogging/writing you are going to do in the future. - hands Sasa a melon-pan -
Posted 04 Jul 2008 at 09:04 CE(S)T ¶And I wasn’t even around to say goodbye.
I’ll miss you, Sasa.
