So it’s preview time again… I guess this is going to turn out rather short, especially since I don’t see myself watching many anime anytime soon. However, it’s nearly impossible to ignore the masses of anime that are going to come out and there is no way I will skip the only regular feature on Heterochromia, right? *hrr*
In a nutshell, I have 8 out of 45 series I am interested in - not even 1/5! I am so proud of myself…
Library Wars
“Based on a light novel.” Usually that’s all to make me interested, but this one is particularily intriguing: science-fiction, Noitamina (!), libraries, information management, strictly government controlled society. These are too many interesting keywords for you to mess up with this, Production IG!

Chii’s Sweet Home
I love Chii’s Sweet Home. AWWWWWWW! That’s all.

Crystal Blaze
A “What the heck is this?” series. According to psgels, the director worked on They were 11, Saikano and Mahou Tsukai Tai - in consequence, fairly interesting. Of course, it’s always totally unknown series (mostly original plot) that can give you the biggest surprises. Therefore, Crystal Blaze might be *the* series of the season.

Real Drive
This is definitely a hit or miss, just like most science-fiction series. We’ll see.

Himitsu
I was never really drawn to the manga (partially because the scanlations took ages to come out), but the mangaka Shimizu Reiko is an old favourite so I will definitely take a look at this.

Allison to Lillia
I am the biggest fan of Kino no Tabi on this world, so Allison to Lillia is a must. However, the character design in the anime are really scary unlike the beauty of the novel illustrations (as seen above).

Kurenai
I know of the manga but I never read it and it has never really caught my attention besides the nice-looking cover. However, the premise of the anime is somewhat interesting and features a very intriguing cast: animation by Brains Base (see Baccano) and direction by the Red Garden director and Millennium Actress producer.

Kyouran Kazoku Nikki
Somehow this makes me think of Potemayo and I seriously doubt that I will watch it. But who knows…
In conclusion, the never-ending effect of way too many series to watch will hopefully not weigh too heavily upon me this spring. I need the time to catch-up with all the marvelous series from winter after all: Spice and Wolf, true tears, Shigofumi, Aria and Zoku, not counting my other stalled series… *faint* The abundance of series to watch is worth an editorial entry, it seems.

Allison and Lilla!!
other than that, Library wars look quite interesting, it seems that series are getting more “realistic” in terms of reference to technical terms and ideas. We already have Spice and Wolf, all the talk about Tariffs and quotas. I wonder if this is going to the new trend!
Posted 02 Mar 2008 at 23:42 CE(S)T ¶Yay!! Good to see a post from ya Sasa
I´ve missed them.
Sofar I don´t know what shows I´ll be watching next season. Maybe to Love Ru, atleast the first ep to see if it manages to beat Rosario + Vampire in pantyflashing…
Except for that, I don´t know that many. Will have to take a better look at this. I´m having a hard enough time with watching the shows that air now and since I tend to mix in old shows and the ones that I´ve managed to miss, like ef a tale of memories I just got a enormous backlog…
But that´s fun in it´s own way.

Posted 12 Mar 2008 at 08:21 CE(S)T ¶You’ve definitely picked out a few that have caught my eye and one, Library Wars, I hadn’t even heard about. Judging by the premise and the promo art it looks like the most promising, too!
Also, don’t worry about only being interested in a few series - it’s the downfall of having excellent taste. :3

It seems like I have missed a whole fascinating world…
Cheers m8!

She was hooked by watching just one episode of the anime, and ran out and read all the novels. She was often reading them in the same room as me, and would periodically start kicking her feet and shouting “ohmygodohmygodohmygod!!” (in Japanese). She’s now determined to make a doujinshi about it to sell at this year’s Winter Comic Market. (^o^)
