Hrm~, I’d prefer to be insulted as 12 year old girl…
I’ve been planning to write a post about 4koma for days but can’t get myself to do it. It’s quite difficult to say, but I always have the impression that the way I’m planning to structure the post is unsatisfying. Especially since I’ve been reading 4koma for quite a long time, but never really paid attention to them, or even analyzed them.
A propos analysis: A certain Pete Zaitcev thinks that my (good?) anime taste doesn’t match with my writing style, which in his opinion sounds like a 16 year old girl coming from MySpace. Reason: I like to use emoticons. Well… you know, I could also say that el jay whorage is even more stupid, but zaitcev surely doesn’t want to be judged by something superficial as that, right? *hrr*
But seriously… do you think the reason why Heterochromia is not quite popular is my girlish writing style?

Onto the summer preview: I’ve always liked to read other people’s summer previews. (Sorry if I missed yours in this little list.) I don’t quite care about the summary of those series because I got to know them much earlier anyways (in the “New anime” thread in the Animesuki forum for instance). However, I really like to know who picks which series, and why - especially when it’s bloggers who I’ve known for quite awhile and therefore already have an idea about their anime tastes.

Doujin Work
This time, reading so many other summer previews, I have to to admit that I should have done a more thorough research on the series to come before writing my preview. Like Skh and flaskis mentioned, Doujin Work is a must-see for me too. I have read the first 2 chapters of the manga and obviously immediately fell for its 4-koma charm: It’s slightly perverted, funny and has interesting characters.

Miyori no Mori
This title is also highly interesting. It’s based on a manga by Hideji Oda (Coo’s World) and will most likely turn out quite artsy. I’m not a huge fan of nature, to be honest (I actually prefer people, the city and technology), but if Miyori is voiced by Aoi Yuu (Tanyu in the Mushishi movie; Hagu in the Hachikuro live-action), I will definitely take a look at it.
PS. I fell in love with improvisation and am looping this for 10 minutes now. I wish the sound quality would be *slightly* better. It sounds like… 10000 times better than the original and the guy who plays it truly knows where to put the accents. I play the piano (very crappily, unfortunately) so I am a little bit biased, but I believe that the piano is the most versatile of all instruments and conveys the emotions of the player best.

Well, I think your *hrr* is totally the cutest thing on the web and your emoticon usage is fine and I don’t even know who the hell that guy is to begin with, other than I’ve seen him on IRC.
And that’s the official position of ikimashou, and as such, all of the world.
P.S. I am awesome.

Posted 27 Jun 2007 at 23:17 CE(S)T ¶The Randall has spoken. It shall be like he says. *hrr*
Am i cute?
Posted 27 Jun 2007 at 23:21 CE(S)T ¶Nobody fucking uses RedHat anymore. He needs to Gentoo or GTFO.
Milkmaster… hmmm… add in a kitten and we can call you cute. Make sure you put some sort of caption on the kitten,

Posted 27 Jun 2007 at 23:28 CE(S)T ¶Ah yes, Miyori no Mori. I’m glad to see that more people will be looking forward to it.
Posted 28 Jun 2007 at 02:08 CE(S)T ¶I don’t see anything wrong with your writing style, and anyway I probably have to agree with Randall on all things as part of the ikimashou hosting terms
Now I’m off to worship my new god, the kitty.

I think this will attract lots of reader as the german blogging scene is practilcally non-existent. I know, writing dual language can be a pain in the ass…but yeah, whatever floats your boat…
Posted 28 Jun 2007 at 20:26 CE(S)T ¶@Karura: Very, very great. I think we need a little shrine for the KITTY.
I’m glad you’re on ikimashou too :]
@David: Thanks you for giving me this good idea - however I don’t think I would successfully implement that. For some time, I actually wanted to switch to blogging in french, but in the end, I didn’t want to lose my english readership (the few great people who actually read my blog). If I see more people in the german ‘blogosphere’ with similar tastes as mine, I might change my mind. Currently, I haven’t seen that many people I have something in common with at the places I visit regularily (AnimeGer, CIL Forum, Comicforum etc.) Is there a german anime community that actually might suit my tastes but I’m totally ignorant about?
Posted 28 Jun 2007 at 20:47 CE(S)T ¶You missed the short reviews my friend wrote here, but it’s not that important.
I thought you actually got pretty good exposure, and you were already pretty popular in the blogosphere. At least I think your blog’s pretty cool.
Posted 28 Jun 2007 at 21:07 CE(S)T ¶Some people see anime blogs as reviews or for summaries, and hence they may think it’s “improper” for a review to have emoticons, likewise others may want information presented in a “formal” way.
However, this is your blog and you write what your want on it, personally I think using emoticons adds to the humour and, to some extent, even help express what you want to say. Which I think is quite effective, and since there are so many blogs out there you need something like this to differentiate your’s from the others, it’s your style of writing so don’t go trying to change it just because some readers don’t like it, if they don’t like it they should go read somewhere else.
Posted 28 Jun 2007 at 21:36 CE(S)T ¶To girlish? I don´t think so but that´s me. Smiley use? I don´t think I´ve seen one sofar so what´s that guys problem?
Writing in two languages is really hard, at most I can find my english amusing and somewhat well written, but my swedish, ouch it really sucks.
I really don´t have any opinion about the summer season. I´ll just watch the first ep of all the shows and then work from there.
Posted 28 Jun 2007 at 22:21 CE(S)T ¶French, swedish?? I thought you guys are german XD
Sasa: since I’m new to this whole blogging thing I don’t really know any anime communities^^
Posted 28 Jun 2007 at 23:15 CE(S)T ¶@David, yep, I´m swedish, not german :p
I don´t know of many anime communities either. I just write what I want to write, here I write what I want under Sasa´s watchful eyes(sofar so good :p)
Posted 29 Jun 2007 at 01:08 CE(S)T ¶and at my own blog I really do write what I want. At the pace I want as well. Trailing behind like hell on Lucky Star… need to get my mind back on track and write like hell.
@BigN and RK: Thank you for those kind words *_* They are muchly appreciated.
@Manga: It isn’t all that wrong - indeed, I have used a lot of smilies in my summer preview post. But it seems there were people who read the post nonetheless, so I’m glad ^^
@David: I am german, yeah, but just like I started with this blog to improve my english, I wanted to switch to improve my french *haha* Well, Manga is from Sweden and MrMayat is from Singapore. So in the end, only I am really from Germany (thus my little trademark button).
