Who is your favourite Lucky Star girl? Must probably be Konata. Milkmaster raves about her, and I also think that without her, Lucky Star is nothing, but my all-time favourite remains Kagami.
I wonder why? Kagami is probably the most boring among the characters, she doesn’t have particular oddities and weird character traits, she isn’t as stupid as Tsukasa but also not as smart as Miyuki, she doesn’t say much funny things. So what do I like her so much?
1. Twintails
One of the main reasons: Her character design is the cutest. For some reason, I like her hair and eye colour and her bows much more than Kona’s simple straight hair. Even her ahoge cannot convince me - the twintails just are pure win. However, I can’t remember other twin-tailed character that I like (for example, I hate Sailor Moon’s Usagi >.< ), I wonder why.
I generally prefer long hair over short, by the way. I think all female characters I really like (except for Fujioka Haruhi) have long hair.
2. She’s a reasonable person
She’s the Kyon of Lucky Star - she’s the only one who goes against the freaky protagonist and punches her for her faults, and gets emotional about it in such a lovely way.
Oh, another similar character is Chika, imho. She also is the one who has to clean up the mess of Miu’s head. And she’s a caring good student like Chika - I like these characters the most, maybe because they are so rare.
3. Moeness
I think she’s much more moe than Miyuki and Tsukasa, mainly because I don’t really like the clutz-type character. Kagami looks similar to Tsukasa, but she has a more likeable character - that’s what really cute girls are like!
On top of that, Kagami is the only Lucky Star girl who is mature enough that you can mention her with the term “sexy” in the same sentence.
4. She’s hopelessly in love with Kona
She isn’t sure whether to love or hate her, given her difficult personnality - but who can stand against Kona’s charm? Poor Kagami, I think this is so sympathetic…
5. My personnality is very similar to Konata’s, and nothing like Kagami’s
This is Milkmaster’s theory. Maybe it’s true that I am a lot like Kona…
* Kona an otaku like me, even though I don’t play RPGs. Watching a lot of anime (and sometimes also fanservicey) anime is enough.
* Her blunt personnality is a bit exaggerated, but in some situations I can be similar.
* Milkmaster says that I also do that :3-face pretty often. To me, it’s a sign of bliss, though *hrr hrr*
* I tend to think and talk about, say, unusual stuff. How to eat food is a good example XD
* And last but not least, I am the kind of person who starts to study extremely late, but still do well.
These character traits aren’t exactly all positive, so maybe that’s why I’m placing Konata on second place?
Every good comedy anime needs a character to rave about. Azumanga Daioh has Osaka, The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi had Haruhi, Ouran has Haruhi as well, Ichigo Mashimaro has Ana-chan. (Therefore, Sensei no Ojikan isn’t that great because it lakcs an outstanding character.)
So luckily (what a pun *hrr hrr*), Lucky Star has Kagami! *______*
PS. I spent ridiculously lots of time on this post and I’m still unsatisfied. That’s all because I haven’t blogged for awhile T_T

I too definitely prefer Kagami over any of the other Lucky Star characters so far simply because her character has much more depth. Sure Konata is the otaku type which we can all relate to, but that’s the one problem. We can relate to her because we all watch anime, we all play games etc. Though Kagami is different where her emotional characteristics are a broader ranger and that she is the more sensible one. Plus she is indeed very moé~~

OH LOL. Btw we are both like Konata but I guess guys who are similar to Konata are called “otaku” and generally not desired.
Unfortunately as much as I like Chika, I have to say my favourite chara is Konata followed by Chika. The show just builds Konata up to be super some otaku woman and this is what we all like.
My girlfriend is actually a lot like Kagami’s sister though. Not exactly a great thing. The type that are like Kagami don’t really get attached a lot in their teens, most of my classmates are such.

I actually voted for Tsukasa in a “favourite Lucky Star girl” poll, although it had more to do with her being a cute little ornament than actual character worship. Overall, I’d say Kagami trounces the competition.
