Well yeah, it’s been awhile since I’ve blogged. In fact, I still continued watching anime but just didn’t write about it. I watched Ghost in the Shell 20-24 in the meantime, as well as Sumomomo Momomo episodes 2-6. Oh, and we finished the rest of Nodame Cantabile (episodes 3-11) in one go.
Hataraki Man and Sumomomo Momomo are the only series of the whole autumn season I am continuing watching (I even dropped Bartender) and I should finally finish watching NHK.
Well, that’s my anime status. Nothing interesting.
However, I’m glad I’ve found something that managed to catch my attention: Memories! I really disliked Akira, but I’m looking out for everything Katsuhiro Otomo does (one day, I want to watch Steamboy too) and most of the stuff is actually good! Especially this little collection of short movies is a gem. I hope it reaches a wider audience.
My favourite movie of all of them was the second, then comes the third (for its style) and in the end, the first. I have to admit that I loved the atmosphere and the animation of the first movie, but the story itself was so depressing and generic. Ugh. I hated the woman, and I wonder why her voice reminded me of Millennium Actress (a movie I appreciated a lot, by the way). They also slightly look alike and are both celebrities.
In my opinion, the second movie had a really original idea - and a gorgeous ending. It even made up for the fact that the protagonist is just *too* stupid XD
The third movie was a “slice of life” in a quite special manner. I didn’t know that before I watched it though, so I was surprised that there actually was no conclusion at all *hrr*
I was also very pleased to see that Milkmaster liked these movies. I always forget that he likes this kind of artsy stuff and feared these movies would bore him. I’m thinking too much *g*

I also watched this movie a few days ago. My favourite was the first one, seeing as I’m a real fan of these kinds of mystery-shows. The second movie started out good, but I think it started to get a bit too ridiculous at one point, when the government started firing hundreds of missiles at the guy and he still managed to get away safely. The third movie also was quite interesting. I liked the ending, though it could have been more.
