Hataraki Man Ep.1

Wapp! Cute~

There are a lot of Hataraki Man posts by now so I realize that I come a bit late with it *hrr hrr* But oh well, this anime tops my current favourite anime list so there’s no way I’m not gonna blog this.

Why do I like Hataraki Man so much? First, I am more than pleased with the execution of the animation. It looks absolutely gorgeous, the characters look rather faithful to the manga and very good, the overall mood and the backgrounds are gorgeous. It is a pleasant surprise for the eye to see this anime *__* Noitamina love <333 I wonder what will be next, given the fact that Hataraki Man will only have 11 episodes. (Somebody at the Animesuki forums said something like “11 is the new 12, eh?” That made me laugh. XD)

Second, I love the characters, even that stupid editor who is the direct opposite of Matsukata.
Apparently lots of bloggers out there can identify themselves with him and like his way of thinking while I pretty much despise him. But don’t feel too easily insulted, I despise him not for being laid-back (personally I’m something in between, I’m rather laid-back and care more about family and love than work, but I have ambitions and a bright career *cough cough* in front of me), but for the fact that he gets in the way of Matsukata. He gives her even more work because of his own laziness (despite my own laziness, I would hate myself if I would bother and make problems for other people with it) and the main point: He copies her work without crediting it! That totally goes against my ideals and I would dislike everybody who does this to me. At the same time, I think I have never copied anything from anybody whose permission I didn’t get. (Because of my laziness, I admit that I have copied a lot in the past from people who were nicely giving their stuff to me *harr harr*)
I have the distinct feeling that the story wants to make Matsukata and that guy a couple. Ugh. We’ll see. Maybe he has other good points or even gets Matsukata out of her vicious cycle. Then he may be forgiven.

Hm, I like Shinji, by the way. I guess that sooner or later, he has to show up as an asshole because the plot requires it, but as for now, I admire the fact that he stays with her even though they hadn’t had sex for 3 months. I also liked how he brought souvenirs for her and how he proposed to come over when she needed it. So far, he’s an okayish guy who just is a bit too busy (just like her).

Oh, another thing that might insult some of you: I hate most of the journalists, as well as I hate most of the doctors out there. The reason being that it is highly important that journalists and doctors are keeping a high moral standard which they usually don’t do. They tend only to think about their own profit and need to have very strong ideals - which they usually don’t. Journalists should not write for themselves but in order to achieve “truth” and bringing the “truth” to people, as cheesy as it may sound. Instead, they are copying from others, they are writing what they want not caring whether it’s true or not… ARGH! Another reason why I love such an honest person Matsukata apparently is, even though she’s still making mistakes, but you can’t blame her for that.

Out of the love for the anime, I re-read the first chapter of the manga again. Even though I love how the anime turned out, I’m afraid there are a few things that were changed for the anime so that the meaning is slightly different. For example, I was wondering why she was okay with Kaji-san said she’s masculine (usually women aren’t that happy with that). In the manga, it was explained - it’s some reference to Oohara Reiko, an admired actress who was considered to be masculine, or so.
The manga is also more explicit about her not having 3 months of sex *hehe* (There’s a funny conversation with some other woman that was left out in the anime.)

All in all, I cannot wait for the next episode to come out. But I’m glad Arienai is doing this *____*

hahaha, i must say that even though objectivity and truth is all good, the fact is that morals get chunked aside when money is involved. Truth, is there really a real truth out there?

    What defines truth?

Lol, i apologize, Sasa, just that i am a rather unidealistic person and think that journalists simply work to earn their keep. All the truths and all that sorto disappear after they work.

    Sad but true.
