I read many positive things about Haibane Renmei in different forums - and if I remember correctly, someone also directly recommended this anime to me. Anyway, after I saw that this is an anime with character designs by Yoshitoshi Abe, I immediately fell in love with the illustrations. This anime just has 13 episodes, so it should be fine for me to watch it until the end *g*
The idea of the anime definitely sounds intriguing to me: Haibane creatures with wings (looking like angels) that are living in a small town where they are not allowed to get out. The whole surrounding is a mystery - at the beginning we don’t know anything about what they are, why they are born etc. I guess this will be revealed slowly… but at the beginning, the anime definitely is very slow paced. But still, I’m looking forward to the other episodes ^^
What surprised me a little bit were the colours in the anime. Somehow they are very soft (everything looks a little bit grey and beige…), I wonder if this is because of the fansubs that they sky looks rather yellow than blue and that red looks rather orange… all the character’s hair are also brown or beige - weird. I am really missing strong colours in this anime O.o
